Petalidi
Petalidi is the largest organized tourist resort of Messinia built on the ruins of the ancient city of Koronis. Located beachfront, it offers an opportunity to enjoy the sea and panoramic views. Petalidi is the ideal destination for summer holidays with traditional taverns and beautiful hotels and studios. It is one of the most known tourist resorts of Messinia and only 27 kilometers away from Kalamata. The archaeological findings from the area belong to the prehistoric period and historic times and are kept in the Archaeological Museum of Kalamata. They testify the continuous habitation of the whole area of Petalidi. The palace of Nichoria is located to the north of Petaldi and it is an important archaeological site with findings of early Helladic and middle Helladic period and Mycenaean ages.
